I am setting up a new terrarium for my Psalmopoeus irminia. Pet shop was out of sphagnum moss so I got some beaked moss. Just wanted to ask if it was a safe material before putting any in. Tried doing a search about it first, but no luck.

Thanks in advance.

Never used moss w/my irninia, just cork bark. I doubt it's not safe, but cannot guarantee it of course. What are you using it for?

Decoration and humidity. Where I live it is very dry all year round, so i generally add a bit of damp moss to help keep a little moisture in the enclosures for my arboreals.

Worst it could do is mold up: then you'd only have to rehouse. Never heard of that moss, but I'd love to see whether it works. Different decor in my tanks would be awesome!
