Today I went on a nice hike in Exeter, RI. The trails were open and there was barley any brush. However, on the ride to another trail, I noticed a small tick on my hand. I pulled over immediately to wipe if off. Living in the north-east, Lyme disease is super common. Be careful and take precautionary measures to protect your health!

Couldn't agree more. Where I live these buggers also carry tick-borne encephalitis. Fortunately there's a vaccine for that but too many people neglect to get one.

Whenever I walk through forests and fields I always find some one my legs and arms, little bastards seem to like me. I get most of them but every now and then I miss one and only notice it when the bite starts itching. Gets me worried about lyme disease for sure, I know a few older people who have it and it's not pretty.

Oh, and these repellent sprays don't work 100% either, so still search yourself even if you applied it thoroughly.
