i was wondering if anyone could tell me whats the biggest wild spider in BC canada........preferably in vancouver

You might have dolomedes tenebrosus up there, which are nicely big.

ok the wolf spider looks like this but a lil darker

Cheshire, that Dolomedes is a wolfie. Here is a nice female D. tenebrosus, she's not so big at the moment though. Her abdomen is a bit bigger when she's well fed, but she can't eat when she has an egg sac. And that T. gigantea looks a bit large. By a bit. I've seen figures of about a 10 cm legspan max for gigantea, and the tenebrosus I regularly catch tend to be a bit bigger than that. Then again, we have yet to confirm whether or not dolomedes are found in BC.

BTW, Nevtek, I don't know what wolf spider you're talking about, but that's a Tegenaria, and has a few major differences from wolfies besides being lighter.
