Hello everybody, I was just wondering how do you tell the sex of a ball python? My is about three months old, and I want to get an oppsite sex of the one I have, I want to breed them. How old do they have to be to be able to breed? Please send some pics of some examples where you look and how you tell.

the most accurate way to sex a python of that age is to probe it. tail length is a really good give away. males have longer tails than females. i'd bring the pythons to a herp store and have them shwo you how to probe a snake.

Hi,
As well, males have a pretty substantial set of spurs..(bony protrusions), on either side of their vent..
Peace,
Gillian
p.s., Although I will say now, that the above sounds well...:D

3 months old i would probably pop it...

You really can't tell by tail length or by spurs.

Probbing will work too.

if you are interested in breeding them.... you have about 2 years to wait at best and i would do a lot or research and get some books.
