hi all,

so I’ve had my rose hair for about 9 years, she’s really chill and friendly.
she’s never really kicked hairs towards me but shes developed a bald spot on the top of her abdomen.
I don’t think it’s due to pre-molt either. (Could be wrong) If anyone knows a reason this is occurring could you let me know? Would rather get others opinions just as a precaution.

thanks

I would say that if it is not due to kicking hairs then it would be due to pre-molt.

She doesn’t kick hairs, but it could be early pre-molt... I was just curious if it could be something to worry about like a disease etc.

Many kick hairs while you are not looking. Unless of course you are watching them 24/7. They sometimes spread them around their environment to discourage predators from nosing around.

Tarantulas do not lose hair in premolt 😂
Right. The only way they lose hairs is kicking.
Which often does increase when they’re about to molt. But it’s the kicking that’s doing it.
