Well one of my P. rufilata females molted yesterday. I didn't realize at first that it's legs were stuck in the molt. Then It tried to move and I then saw that it's fangs were also stuck. This sucks, I hate losing my spiders! I hope she pulls through though :(

Hey thompson,

man i just recently had a C huahini do this to me... sorta.

it molted weird, and managed to rip off a leg.. but that wasn't a major problem, the biggest problem is that the old fangs were stuck onto the new ones. It couldn't eat, and slowly wasted away. It was very sad :(

hope she pulls through

Ok after some very risky and dangerous work. I managed to get it's fangs out. When I pulled the molt off, both of it's frong legs were curved so I pulled them off( hoping that the leggs will be healed next molt) Now it only has it's two back legs :( Can it eat and walk around with just four legs and no front legs?

i honestly don't know. maybe, but i doubt it.

good luck thompson. once it hardens (assuming it lives that long), try to help it eat and drink.

I had a G.rosea sling that lost both palps, one fang and 3 or four legs. dont remember how many legs for sure. But I tore the crickets legs all off and put it in front on the sling. It done well and after a few molts was good to go. You just never know. Some times they can pull through when you wouldnt think they could.
