So ive had this new velvet sling for about a month now. Ive been feeding her flightless fruit flies but for the past week she hasn't eaten any of the flies I've offered. Given the nature of the enclosure and rarely seeing her come out its hard to tell if she's molting or not and not sure what to do. Considering trying out small crickets but given her small size not sure if that is the safest option.

how is her abdomen looking last you saw?

if shes coming out shes not molting,

leave a small cricket with its mouth crushed by her burrow. this way its much safer. slings should be able to scavange eat as well, if shes hungry shell take it. if not then id remove it and chalk it up to premolt/molting and leave her be.

a week is a perfectly acceptable amount of time for a spider not to eat :)

Hi there
My three Gandanameno slings are furious eaters. I just throw in some fruit flies in a regulär basis and they hunt down everything that passes by am tingles the strings.
One i haven't Seen for two weeks once so i assumed she was full. They can last a very long time without eating (due to their massive Abdomen).

Regards
