Baby skinks

Two of our baby monkey tailed skinks. We have 3 right now but I found if you hold 2 in one hand they try to bite each other. Love these things but I feel so bad for their mothers because they are huge and their nails are wicked sharp even though they were just born. Can't be a fun birth.

Last I heard these guys were on the CITES list right? Is it still legal to buy them?

It is legal to buy them. CITES just effects import and export of species.

Yeah, their eyes have that Look Let me tell ya, they Bite HARD!!!
{Harder then Any Monitor, Chameleon, or Non-Snapping Turtle }

A buddy of mine has had two babies , and expecting @least another. They can have TWINS, and on one Documented case: Triplets!!! :razz:

P.S. clipping their Nails, is like attempting to do so w/ Wolverine

The late Bert Langerwerf and his facility Agama International have had several triplets. As far as I know AI is the only place that has recorded triplets. We got our stock from his family.

Could you post pictures of their enclosures?I like this species but never found any good information so any of that would help to thanks.

They are in their winter enclosures right now. I really hate their winter enclosures and will be changing them hopefully next year.

Oh man I used to have one.... I loved that thing so much, but he was a wild caught and had salmonella and parasites. He wound up at the vet's for quite some time in their hospital, and I had to syringe feed him and he never pulled through.... He went downhill so fast when i got him, it was pretty sad. This was back in the mid-90's, mind you.
