hey guys! my girlfriend and i just picked up a baby albino corn snake. it is about a foot long maybe as thick as a pencil around the middle. for now at least i am using coco fiber for substrate. i have a heat pad under one side of the tank keeping it around 75*F and a ceramic heat bulb on the other side keeping it at about 83*F. we have a large water dish so it can soak as well as a hide on each side of the tank plush some things to climb on. it is in a 29 gallon tall. does anybody have any tips or tricks for this species of snake. keep in mind this is my first snake.

One thing that I didn't know about when keeping my western hognose (my first and only snake) is that some of the shed may remain on the tail after shedding. It can cut off the circulation if it's left on.

I think my own snake may have lost the very tip of it's tail because of this (around a mm). I know this applies to corns too, and probably with every other snake species as well.

Good luck with the new snake (I plan on getting an amelanistic corn).
