Just wanting to know the level of difficulty in breeding B. Smithis. I originally thought they would be one of the easier to breed, however after reading a few things online I'm not sure. I read that females have a low rate at dropping sacs and even if they do they are known to abandon the sac early on. It was also saying that some breeders believe in a "cooling down" period for the female which actually referred to dropping the temp for a short time prior to mating to better the odds. Never heard of such a thing. Just need some opinions from those that have bred these beauties.

Wow!! Thanks sooo much! No matter how I searched on here it returned no results. Looks like I got some work cut out for me. The whole process seems pretty involved. I have a pre-ultimate male coming next week I planned on pairing with my friend's female. I know for a fact he is not going to want to take the time to do all that and I doubt he's gonna want me to keep his female for that long...lol. So my next option would be to start looking for an adult female of my own which would be fine cause I don't have a female smithi of my own. Or...pass the male on to someone with more experience with this species. So, if any of you have an adult female for sale let me know. Or if you are interested in taking the male in a trade Or buying him outright I can have him shipped direct to you now before I get him. I was told he is 1-2 molts to maturing. He will be shipping out this Mon. 5/2.
