Hey guys,

Just wondering, why does some B. boehmei have full orange carapace and some have a dark triangle like the B. emilia? Is this something normal? Does the triangle disappear with time?
Or is it due to some hybridization ?
(I'm in Europe, and I heard that in the 90s, german breeders did a lot of hybridization with the boehmei)

Appearance varies as it does with people. Some you like to see, others like an accident.

I see, I didn't know that carapace could vary that much within the same species. I thought that it would roughly be the same.

b boehmi will sometimes have a small black triangle neat their eyes. I have never seen one that is as big and distinctive as an emila

I haven't either. Man, too bad boehmei is more skittish than a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. I loved my AF, but she was flicky, drop a cricket in 5" away, flick!
