looks very Avicularia Avicularia to me. The whole genus is a mess, but there really isnt anything telling me its not A.avic.

Despite what people may tell you, there is no way to tell between A. avic or A. metallica from a picture.
But if you got it from a petstore, I'd just assume its A. avic. As it definately looks like it.

Yeah Shadow Blade is right about the pet store thing.
I also think it is an avic.

I may be wrong but I would guess a A. metalica. All the A. avics I've had have been black for the most part. All the A. Metallica that I have had have looked like that. But this is not a guarantee as it is hard from a picture. Lighting can be a big factor. Also, just cause it was purchased from a petstore means nothing, because they usually have no clue what they are selling.

Exactly the point. ;)

Petstores import 'pink-toes'. A. avic are the most common. So if you purchase a 'pink-toe' from a petstore, even though in theory it could be A. metallica, odds are, its just avic.

I was thinking this when I ordered three wild caught Avic. avics off the net. If they were WC does that mean in all probability they are a mix of A. avics and A. metallica or is there a method to distinguish what they actually are?

Edit: just realised, they are actually from different places arent they?

Must say though the ones that I ordered don't look anything like as amazing as that tarantula.

This is the prettiest I've seen, my now gravid female A. avic.

But my other female is way duller colored. And males, not so pretty either.
