I didn't know that it was still on schedule...unless it was due to open last fall but I don't think it was. After Katrina I was a bit worried it wouldn't open any time soon...guess I have a reason to drive to New Orleans one weekend (with a bullet in the chamber of my pistol in the center console ).

423 Canal Street, taking up the block between North Peters and Decatur streets.
They were set to open last year but Katrina put a huge wrench in the works. They lost almost all of their stock when the power went out.
Opening is currently set for this Fall.

Wasn't this the place they just showed on the TV Show "Dirty Jobs" this week?

That was the Insect Rearing Facility (IRF) of the Audubon Insectarium. It is part of the same place but about a half hour drive from the actual Insectarium.

I wish there were more places like this in the US or at least cooler bug exhibits at zoos. Most of the time it's just hissing roaches and rosehair T's. I would be really excited to see some new stuff. It would be awesome to work in a place like that :}
