Atypus species from China

I just got them last week. It's cool. I cannot image that I can get them in a bird food shop.

This species is used for the protein supplement of Hwamei (Garrulax species). Hwamei is a popular bird in Hong Kong.

wow!! I wish I could get that here!! that thing is crazy lookin! amazing set of fangs on it.. have you just been feeding crickets? lemme know if u wanna send some my way lol

Very cool looking! Atypus sp. gotta have the longest fangs compared to bodysize or all spiders!
Just too bad you probably never see it again after they burrow down in the websock ;)

so I guess those long fangs are to catch prey through the websock like a purseweb?
