Arthropod Tattoos???

I could not find a thread on this but if there is one please drop it below for me.
Does anyone have and want to share their arthropod tattoos?
I have been scared to get an arachnid tattoo as I feel a lot of people don’t do them justice but I have made the leap of faith and will get my two favorite species tattooed next month.
I have 5 insects tattooed already (I am an entomologist and ecologist) but am so excited to add my OBT (not in a threat pose) and C. fimbriatus to my collection of arthropod art. Here’s to hoping I don’t have to pay for a cover up

Surprisingly at 50% skin coverage, I have yet to get an invertebrate tattoo, let alone an arachnid. I have a CA/SA wildlife themed sleeve that I do intend to add a tarantula to at some point (species is in the air currently), but that addition will be on my hand and I'm not quite ready to go past the cuffs.

There are all kinds of tattoos on Google search, it looks like a 3d widow type is the most ubiquitous these days. There are some pictures of cool hairy types of T's, but I can't really tell what kind they are. Good luck! (I think you have to get permission from an admin to enter The Watering Hole.)

He got the species and common names for the two mixed up but that’s ok! The OBT goes on the other side next Friday.
that was initially his concern. He said without color you would never be able to tell them apart and I pointed out few things to pay attention to. I am happy with it

Hard to judge where you got it, but looks like left side torso, hip to ribcage? If so, that's not a pleasant appointment lol. Core tattoos like that can be brutal. I've done some really late night sessions where the hours under the needle got into the double digits, but I have a hard 4 hour session limit on any ink where there's no bone support under the skin, only organs.

Yes! It is from the hip bone up to the ribs where it almost connects with my sternum and rib piece. It was not the most pleasant experience but I’m not sure it was my most painful tattoo either. The worst part was having to arch so that the area stretched out enough.

Ohh, there are PLENTY of other places on the human body that register higher on the suck-o-meter, that's for sure lol. Thankfully, they tend to be smaller areas though (think collarbone, patella, nail beds, Achilles tendon at the heel, etc).

The worst part was having to arch so that the area stretched out enough.

Yep, if you ever do your elbow or kneecaps, you'll have to have the joint at 90° to stretch the skin out as well. Needle on bone, not pleasant, but it could be worse. Your artist could be a sadistic comic like mine who always has a good joke when I'm least able to laugh .

I have one elbow done and I think I did a straight arm for thy part of my sleeve. I am ticklish so I have to work hard not to laugh always haha!

Thinking I'll probably bring the B. caapi vine down to the hand with another bromeliad in the foreground with a tarantula on it, more than likely a Pachistopelma spp.

Make sure to post pictures of the OBT when you get it .

IMHO, lower vertebrae just above the coccyx wasn’t fun either. It’s all worth it to have beautiful work for life. Beautiful new tattoo, OP!
