Arizona spider party

Hey I just wanted to make a post about the spider party coming to AZ in August. First if anybody want's to post what they are bringing I'm sure everybody would appreciate it. Second, is anyone going to be selling Togo slings. Just outta curiosity. I'm looking to pick one up so if anyone will be selling them please let me know so I know what money to bring. Even if it isn't a sling Togo, still let me know. This will be my first Spider party and I am very anxious. Me and my cuz Sean are. Maybe some people can tell me what the one's in the past have been like. Thnx everybody. Anyways, that's all. Peace.

They're always lots of fun! It's not just the spiders and all, but the kind of people who participate. The ages of the paricipants range from teens to silver haired folks.

I haven't decided what I am taking yet. Not everyone who brings a critter is necessarily selling it. We bring some just for "show and tell" more than anything. We also trade, sell, and even give some critters away as door prizes.

Refreshments (snacks and drinks) are usually provided by the host and the locations of the party change. We had one at my place last year in June. Hopefully, once we get settled into our new place, we'll be ready to have one there in Ocotober or so. We're still waiting for our condo to sell before we can buy the house he have on a contigency contract.

It's not really an experience that can be explained. You gotta come if you really want to know what it's like!

Doesnt sean have one or two?

But im probably going to bring about 10 parahybana slings down there to sell, and maybe my 2" giant white knee (My fav) just to show off.

Yep, it's a week from tomorow. (August 9th).

Aren't you too on the email list? Darrin's got an email list to keep track of us all. If you're not on it, drop him a line and I'm sure he'll be happy to add you to it.

I'm with you freetosting, this is gonna be my first T party as well, I don't know what it's gonna be like but I'm sure it will be fun. I just need to get the directions from Brandon. I'll have my mexican fire leg before the party, I'll probably bring him just so you can check him out DiStUrBeD-OnE and the rest you guys. the science name for it is Brachypelma boehmei. I don't have many T'z right now or even big T'z but in couple of years all my slings will be grone and I'm gonna have some bad T'z. I'll probably bring my ball pythons as well.

lol, i tried to enter, i made an accnt name and all that stuff that it asked.. then 4 mins after, sent me an email that said the account couldnt be registered or something.. tried every accnt i could think of, and just said screw it..

Hello fellow desert dwellers. Just found this board last week and this thread this morning. Is this still on? Are there details of this in another post? I saw nothing in the 'calendar' section and this thread was buried 8 pages down. Unfortunately too late notice for me (not that I'm invited anyway LOL) - the girlfriend would not be too undestanding of me cancelling our dinner plans on her last minute to attend a spider party. Anyway, I am eager to meet up with some of you guys down the road for similar events, collecting trips, etc. I am in Scottsdale, and have/will have in next few days some Emperor scorps, a Desert Hairy scorp, a Vietnamese pede and a Puerto Rican pede (and a local mantis). No spiders yet, but am interested. Feel free to track me down or PM me. Please add me to any local mailing list. Have fun at the party!

And a great time was had by all. We had a great turnout with selling, buying, trading and a little spider sex thrown in for good luck. It was nice to match faces to forum members. Extra big thank you to Brandon for hosting. See you next month!

We also had a great time. I walked into that party owning 6 T'z and walked out with another 6. I guess I got carried away. So now I have a total of 12 T'z. I'll post pics later

Party was off the hook!

Hey everyone, just wanted to say I had a great time there!! It was tight, I went there owning no tarantulas and i walked out with 7 tarantulas. 6 slings and one adult. 4 different species.
I named 3 of them barely. the curly hair is Chicano, The texas brown is TEX and the adult rosea is Rosita. any suggestions for my other 2 G. Roseas and the other two Versicolor. Thanx for the invitation guys, I learned a lot.
PS. for those who dont remeber me I was the one with the Piercings.
