Hi guys,I know their scientific name are diffrent but their english common name both are "Thailand Black Earth Tiger".I was sooo fascinated by the picture of H.minax,so I hope you guys can help me not going to buy the wrong one.:worship:
They are indeed different species. From first glance, you should notice a gold stripe on the "tibia" of the O. aureotibialis, (aureo - gold, tibialis - tibia). The Haplopelma minax is more solid black, although they show some abdominal striping in some cases, I believe.
Obviously there are other differences, but the gold stripe will help you avoid buying an aureotibialis as a minax.
The aureotibialis is also known as "Thailand golden fringe", a less confusing common name than "Thailand Black Earth Tiger".
