How many of you guys have seen a Calif. ebony?
Where they got the ebony from, I don't know. Isn't ebony, black?
I guess I'll see what it looks like after a molt. :?

Your right ebony is black. I've never herd of that Ahonopelma before.

On John Hoke's species description, Aphonopelma eutylenum is listed as California ebony.

I bought it from Darrin ( Golden Phoenix Exotica ) at the Az. reptile show last weekend.
He got it from a guy that supplied 4 of them to the National Geographic people. They did a show on this species. Darrin had all 4, so he sold one. Their all females. :) He has another one for sale on his site..

Ah, sounds like another case of "A. B. aphonopelma" or "another brown aphonopelma" ;)
