Well, I know that I dont have to many Aphonopelmas, maybe 7 species at best mostly from around the south south west (Only Az and Nm in other words) Here are some pics of a couple native T's and my Carlsbad Green ;)

i have an as-yet unclassified Aphonopelma sling, but as it is TINY i doubt it would be of great interest. :)

here it is though.

the smallness of this thing ASTOUNDS me daily! beautiful little T!



they're calling this a New Mexican Blonde. it'll be gorgeous once it gets larger...in about 30 yrs...lol!

Awsome pics every one, I know I feel very blessed to live in a area that wild tarantulas occure. I get to see how the breed in the wild, what there behavior is like compared to captivity. Iv captured what seems to be atleast 6 arizona species. Hopefully there will be more on the way.

I thought that we had some of the mexicans here in Arizona. Like the mexican red knee,bloodleg and so on. Do we or have you just not caught any ??

Sorry but no Brachypelmas live in the USA, the closest one is B emilia wich is still over 100 miles away. Hope this clears things up for you

Do they have Tarantula capturing expeditions in Arizona? If so I'm going to come and visit a friend in Phoenix one of these days.

Its a blast going out in the desert and finding em, hard parts about it is the heat and Seeing hundreds of holes, but none with webbing in it..
Ive only been out once, but i cant wait till i can do it again
I Found an Aphonopelma Schmidti, Ill get a pic of her once she comes out of her burrow
