I have keep and breed this species ever since I was a child. It was the first species I have ever kept. Bites are rare from adult and older tarantulas. They are generally a peaceful species. Babies and younger tarantulas and adult males are quite aggressive however and will bite if provoked. Generally they will preform the typical threat display of raising there front legs and showing there fangs off. Bites have a burning sensation with minimal pain. It last for about ten minutes or so. I am also sensitive to insect stings so this species is pretty safe.
