It was only recently characterized by scientists, it's not in the hobby.

I can't even get my hands on an A. chalcodes, anax, or hentzi - let alone all these new species. :(

Its strange. I never see these either, and I live in the southwest. You would think that stores here would be full of these...

Yes, Aphonopelma are deplorably hard to find, I've already discovered. Apparently it's because most of their habitats are in national/state parks and are automatically protected from collection? At least, that's what I hear.

I can't speak for the southwest but as for the sourheast you had better not get caught collecting fauna in a state park . The fines are outrageous . I assume that is the same everywhere.
