Anyone know if Lasiodora cristata has palpal bulbs?

All mature male Ts have palpal bulbs. Actually, that goes for most, if not all, spiders in general.

Are you sure? I could have sworn I've heard of some tarantulas that don't have 'em.

Or maybe I'm thinking of tibial hooks.

Now that I think about it, that makes a lot more sense.

Oops. Stupid question. :8o

Edit: See folks, this is what happens when you're being too lazy to think. You ask a stupid question that you should have been able to figure out the answer to (even if you didn't know the answer) and you end up looking like a dumbass.

Yes, it is tibial hooks that some species don't have and L. cristata have them. If you have a mature male L. cristata, you'll be able to tell from across the room. The hooks are obvious and they are extremely leggy.

Also, some people say certain species lack the hooks, when really the hooks are located on the 'side' rather than 'below'.

Yep. They have tibial spurs and are very leggy. Also, the 3 mature males that I've had all had a darker brownish carapace as opposed to the grey normally seen in females and immatures.
