Any way to Id type of web? Could there be a hibernating Audax maybe?

Outside my door - how could I not see this? I don’t want to disturb it unless it’s likely a jumper. C403E4D5-7B19-4E2F-9428-A354E1708385.jpeg

That looks like a jumper's nest. Looks like a big one in there. Gently coax the spider out with a feather or a paint brush. I'm really excited to see what you have found. Well done!

I will be finding out tomorrow when there’s some sunlight, lol! It would be a very nice surprise if it were a jumper.

I am deeply invested in this story. I really hope you find the audax you've been looking for in there. Post an update as soon as you find out!

Haha! The hunt rages on! I’m going to laugh if one had been outside my door all this time. I checked around the door before, but not under the awning there, I guess! Obviously, if it’s a hibernating Audax I will be ecstatic and immediately post here after getting them set up. If it’s mystery eggs, oh no. If it’s any other spider, it’s got a home until spring I guess 😅.

It was just a moult 😭
That is so disappointing. I am so sorry. Keep hunting and I hope you find one. Look inside your house too. I just found an empty nest above my son's bedroom door. Those awnings and the tops of door jams are common spots. Also open any sliding windows or doors. That inside part where they close is another place I tend to find them here. Good luck. I'm rooting for you!
