Well, this little beauty came in today.. any tips on keeping them? I'm going with straight verm in a medium deli cup until atleast thursday when I can make something a little more ornate.

That's one sweet scorpion, Bill. I'm always surprised at the variation in colouration in these guys. That is the lightest mesosoma I've ever seen a pic of. Perhaps it darkens as it gets older or maybe this is just a lighter variation.

Cheers,
Dave

i have mine on about 3 inches of sand/peatmoss/gravel mix. (mostly sand) i wet it, packed it down tight then left a heat lamp for a couple days to dry it out.

These scorpions seem to like it basic and dry. A small/shallow waterdish (not overfilled) and sand or verm should work (or really, whatever you prefer as long as it's not too moist).

I don't see them needing it particularly hot, either. They seem active between 70 and 80 degrees F.

Here's a few more.. This is officially 'my' first scorpion.

My camera seems to go out of focus when not using flash for some reason, anyhow, here's it under a blacklite!
