Well I got hit with ant's...started in the chicken feed that my brother brought to the house to "feed roaches".

WOW, I got hit HARD...only a week after Raul (Thiscordia), and I told him it would never happen to me :8o

4 P. mossambicensis adults 1 male 3 female
8 out of 10 A. bicolor
4 baby orthochirus fuscipe
6 LQ heberus
Looks like my colony of exilicauda got owned too... :( out of 20 I think I counted 6 dead and maybe 4 wounded...Ugh...

Still going through the cages, in the process of nuking ants and counting scorp corpses...no pun intended..

Trying to oust them right now...this is war.

But geeze it's like they knew what they were going after,I mean the P mossam's were in the middle of the rack surrounded by like 100+ other things...what the heck!

So help me god if any of my adult Orthochirus are dead.

I dun think the ants had any preference for big hairy buthids
Guess it was their random raids :?
U have ant poison there in the states do u ?
I used to paint the legs of my shelf with it...and it went permanent

Bad news man! It's happened to me too. I had a few toeless lizards after one episode. They left a Vinegaroon alone when it happened one time. They were in it's cage but they were leaving it alone. There's some good stuff you can buy that's not toxic to your animals but will kill the ants. I forgot the name of it but it's main ingredient is borax/boric acid. And there's always Amdro(?)

Yeah I'm using some stuff right now...don't know the name or anything :-/

Moved the scorps clear away from it, vacuuming, cleaning,spraying...for 5 hours :(

Yeah...I am totally rethinking how to better protect against ants...

My area was totally clean ,very few cricket parts, the only cages that had crickets/parts were jayakari and some uroplectes but the ants seemed to have skipped them... no idea :(

Its somekind of poison item, i didnt get the name though as i only used it once.
Guessed it worked very well coz the rack i'm using to store the bugs is made out of wood. Bought it from Ikea, so i guess the poison must have sipped into the wood. Its gonna be like 9 months now since the last ants was spotted :D

I don't know ants too good...all I know is that they hurt when they bite :(

I normally don't have an ant problem... Think is was some chicken feed that started it all, might have to try that "terro" stuff :)

Thanks for all your condolence's everyone, this put a big dent in my favorite species...a real demoralizer :(

Seems like the ant's are communicating and formulating joint attacks, action must be taken !
Ugh the L burdoi... :wall:

The sad thing is that I didn't find one dead ant in the scorpions cage !

Would of thought for sure that the little orthochirus would have taken one or two down :4:
:(
