Anyone ever keep these? what are the largest antlion larvae? Uhh i know this is going to sound messed up. but uhh.... would it be okay to keep the larvae untill it grows up and then feed it to my fish or something? since I don't know what i'd do with the adult.

But still I hear they last 3years in the larvae state.

I kept one that was around half an inch (maybe a little less). Pretty much a container with an inch+ layer of sand works. Feed it little bugs. Mine accidentally was crushed by the sand when I was relocating it so I didn't get to have it very long. :(

Did you buy it? Or catch it?

Caught this one. They're easy as pie to get.
That's the problem. I have good "clerical" skills or so I been told. But.... my eyes tend to hurt when I keep looking at the ground over an hour for tiny little insects! D: I find most stuff by random luck! I found a spider yesterday that I believe to be a p.audax and thought was a male but now Iam thinking its a female because the "pedipalps" or whatever(The front legs) are the same size of the other legs which for males they would be bulky?

Anywho its all random luck when Iam not even looking for them. lol.

I've kept them. They're cool but you have to feed them several times a day or they die. I fed mine ants from outside but I imagine you could feed them pinhead crix.

several times a day? doesn't make sense but alright. I'm also culturing pillbugs. I ditched the leaves and started using cardboard. Feeding them quaker oats(just the oats) and shredded carrots. I let the oats and carrots soak in water for a while. I leave it there till they eat it all. Since they are "decomposters" they eat decaying matter. High in calcium, proteins and vitamins.
