really nice lycosids you find. i love keeping up to half a dozen or so in the summer and spring. i only let them go if they make a eggsac.

Schizocosa in my area vary in sizes too, I find females range from 1" to 2" carrying eggsacks.

I Caught half a dozen similar looking spiders along with a couple Verrucosa arenata the other night I've asked around but nobody has pinned down the Genus and I'm to0 inexperienced to do so if someone could help me out it would be much appreciated :) unknown.JPG

That might actually be a hogna antelucana note the two white spots on the abdomen.

For a better ID, a ventral shot is required. If the venter is all black, its likely antelucana, which can be virtyally identical to S mccooki and avida
