Not exactly the usual fair, and maybe ought to be in the WH, but saw this video and thought of this forum:

I was also wondering--what would cause the cricket to keep ending up upside down like that?

Ive seen behavior (flipping on to backs) to other insects like this due to insecticide exposure.

Ok, that makes sense. Not sure this person uses insecticide, since it seems like he rather likes bugs, but you never know. More likely it came from a neighbor's yard, I guess

Stenopelmatus males will flip on to their backs as a defensive measure, showing the often bright under-colors and positioning their legs to better kick at the attacker. That said, this seems more like pesticide poisoning than a quick defensive measure.
