Ok, I want to say the show was called "Bugman" or something similar, was on either Discovery HD or INHD (Comcast proprietary HD channel), and involved a guy who basically stumbled around the jungle looking for interesting insects and assorted arthropods. Can't seem to find record of the show online.
Anyway...I was recalling a particular episode where the guy was stomping around the amazon with a guide, and happened upon a nest of particularly nasty wasps, and while he was about 50 feet awat he had his local guide disturb the nest somehow, and the guide came back and told him they both needed to gtf out of dodge.
The wasps were large, and had long white abdomens, and their nesting arrangement was conically inverted. I can't for the life of me remember what the local term for those wasps were, but in my peculiar internet stumbles I have not been able to comes across a picutre, much less a description, of them. Anyone know what I am talking about?:?
