There is a person in my area selling an adult female avic metallica for $20. I am just wondering if thats a good deal and since I will have no idea if it is a metallica or female until I get it and post pics I am wondering.. worst case say it is a male avic avic.. will it still be a good deal? Also is there any way to tell a avic metallica from any other avics and what should I look for to tell if it is a female avic? Thanks :)

We bought ours for $35, but it turned out to be a Mature Male when it molted for the first time in our care.

20 is a great deal. I paid 80 each for mine( 6.5-7 inches each)

I got my metallica for $20. Which is a great deal on these, so go for it. I mean $20 is a little of nothing for any adult T, even if it turns out to be an A. avic.

As I understand it, A. avicularia has reddish/brownish hair on it's abdomen, where as the A. metallica has black.

Other than sexing from the molt, you can confirm mature male Avics by tibial hooks on their front legs.

here you can see one on the right leg
