Replace the screen lid with an acrylic square w/vent holes, or add acrylic to the lid frame with some hot glue. If you use screen, your T might lose a leg or die.Is the Zoo Med 12x12x18 enclosure good for an Avicularia Avicularia ? If not, please suggest other enclosures .
How might it lose a leg ?Replace the screen lid with an acrylic square w/vent holes, or add acrylic to the lid frame with some hot glue. If you use screen, your T might lose a leg or die.
They can get caught on the screen via their tarsal claws. If the T can't get itself out, I can see a T self-amputating as they have that ability. Alternatively a weak point in their exoskeleton, and leg cracks open a bit, next thing you know your T bleeds to death or amputates. Or the T just drops from the screen, they DO fall, and splat goes your T etc.How might it lose a leg ?

Do the right thing, protect your T.
Putting a piece of plastic on the frame isn't rocket science, just do it and have piece of mind you did the right thing for your pet/s, and can rest easy when you are not around.Oohh thankyou for the info
