Achatina achatina illegal????

i read on one care sheet that these snails, due to being an invasive species, that they are illegal to keep as pets in the US? is this true?

what do these people have against gastropods???
well i guess the rapid breeding and invasiveness could be one reason...

didn't read the links but the US has already gotten screwed by giant snails before. no need for it to happen again :)

Never heard about this. Is it related to climate conditions in your country? Because in North Europe everyone can keep those guys :?
Yes - it is climate related, Florida has an essentially sub-tropical climate so Achinata can survive and breed in the wild.
