Hi I'm just a beginner when it comes to tarantulas. I have a question about my orange baboon tarantula because she had a successful molt about 2 weeks ago but I''m just wondering why is it that she won't eat at all because she didn't eat for almost like 3-5 months at least? (pre-molt fasting is included) Is there something wrong with my OBT? but her abdomen doesn't seem wrinkled its like well fed tarantula in my point of view. What would be your suggestion about the situation of my OBT? (BTW from jan-april the temperature here in canada is really cold) Thank you in advance!

It could take a while for them to start eating again. Just make sure it had water available and it should be ok. Try feeding again in another week.

Does your spider have enlarged ends on it's pedipalps, or hooks on it's front legs? It might be a mature male, and they have a habit of not eating for extended periods.

Nope i don't see any enlarged pedipalps so i assume that its a girl. Yes I have a well maintained waterdish, I'm just worried with my demonic orange ball of fire pet tarantula. And I didn't know that mature males have a habit like that. Thanks for sharing! :)

Not having enlarged pedipalps doesn't indicate female. It simply indicates that it is not a mature male.
