Hey everyone
I was looking at my crab spider, and then i noticed a REALLY, i mean almost a mm in length little think that looked like a tic or something. Sorry, but i can't take a photo of it because the pixels can't even render something that small.
Description: Black-blueish body, bright orange legs and almost invisible.
Could anyone please make a guess at what it might be? I'm scared it's a mite...

I am no more of an expert than you, but it sure sounds like a mite to me.

I think I spotted one on one of my gbbs this morning as well...

There is plenty to read on this forum about mites. Some are deathly afraid of a single mite, others say they are no big deal and others say they are even beneficial.

I accidentally spilled a bit of water in my gbb's enclosure so my plan is to just let it dry out and see if the problem solves itself. Unless you have a huge infestation I'd say you should do the same.

Good luck!

Nevermind, it turns out to be a winter grain mite, thanks for the help anyway!
