Ok I think I got this to work.

I had been re-doing/cleaning spider cages and happened to notice my largest A. versicolor (I think he/she is 4") grooming - right up against the side of the cage in plain view.

Now I know that to many people this is nothing new. But to me it's like catching a molt for the first time.

I have seen plenty of spiders grooming - in a normal position. I have never seen what it looks like from underneath - which is what I was able to see here.

I also didn't realize I could zoom so well in video mode with the basic point and shoot digital I have.

After I did the first one I noticed the T was putting a leg in it's mouth then rubbing it's spinnerets... So I did a second video. I wondered if it was "washing" the spinnerets?

I managed to upload both video's to photo bucket, and am going to attempt to post them here.

I just wish the abdomen was in a better position... I'd love to know the gender.

ok doesn't look like the embed will work. and I don't know if your "youtube" flag will work if the video is not hosted by you tube. The link works though.

Here is the other video

Excellent video, thanks for sharing it.

I love watching them grooming. I know it's just a basic/common everyday function of their lives, but it's still a cute thing to watch. :)
