Still getting MMs wandering into my work. Typically kind of late for them, I wonder if it is because it was a wet winter. We are starting to bump into the A. eutylenum's mating season. Anybody else in SoCal experiencing the same?

You should get pics ! May be common where u are but I am from the UK n never see such things , best we get is the Tegeneria mm some are large for house spiders but nothing compared to a mm t wandering around! I should imagine the t is more friendly too the Tegeneria are crazy soon as you cup them they throw themselves against the walls of the cup so hard I get frightened they will hurt themselves. I would just leave them but my son is autistic and is petrified of them , which I find ironic because he has 5 t's including a Theraphosa blondi female yet is frightened of the teeny techy 😆 kids 🤷🏻‍♀️
Point being tho pics lol 😂

unfortunately the pause button covers him walking, unless you tap the phone fast once it starts
That was so cool 😎 🥰 I would love to see stuff like that in person, yous are so lucky to be able to see such things. I have been to America as a child we stayed in Bangor Maine both times in a huge log cabin on a lake long long time ago now, but I always remember how much wildlife there was it was on every rock round every corner, unfortunately because I was 6 I payed attention to the birds fish and frogs not the insects 😆
The best I get here are house spiders and the occasional garden spider that come in on our cats 😆

If you go hiking in the hills/mountains and deserty areas around this time of year, you’ll see them. My friends send me pics when they see them. IMG_0041.jpeg I I saw a juvenile on a moonlight mountain hike last month. He was huddled up against the side of a hiker’s foot while others went past her on the trail. I said, “Are you protecting him?” with a smile. She looked at me confused. I immediately reached down and put my hand between her foot and the spider and she moved back and said, “urgh, I would have squashed it if I’d seen it.” Precisely why I put my hand there, lady. I lead him into a nearby burrow, as he refused to be corralled into the bushes.
If you search “San Diego male tarantulas,” you’ll get tons of hits from the local news channels. If you ever make it across the pond to the west coast, you’ll have a few t-friendly guides.

I kidnap one every now and then. Bring him home, to pair with my female, then I re release back into the wild. I produced the 1st or 2nd Sac in captivity. Sadly Momma I think ate them. My friends sac (the other sac) was good and almost all the slings went to Europe. A Stein Pairing.jpg

Any slings stay in the states? They're beautiful!
Yes some did. Pretty pricey and even pricier in Europe. If I have a good pairing this year I may have some next summer. (they take about a year to gestate)

and people wonder why they are called The San Diego Bronze. AM Lighting

she is named Mavis Valente, and the Valente comes from Jennifer Valente, current Olympic Gold Medalist / World Champion in the Velodrome Women's Omnium. She is from our track, (in background) We were doing construction on the track and she was fleeing for her life. I rescued and adopted her because she was so damn cute and her home had been destroyed

I'm so freaking jealous of you guys who live alongside native tarantulas (and herps). Cherish it!
We do. It's pretty cool to go hiking or Mountain Biking and just come across stuff. Tarantulas, Scorpions, Rosy Boas, Banded Geckos....

That's amazing. Here in Sweden we have a total of 19 native species of herps and I get excited beyond belief whenever I see one of the lizards, especially the sand lizard, Lacerta agilis. We do have a wide variety of arachnids though, but most are tiny and hard to identify, and you're not allowed to keep any of them as pets. The closest I've gotten is when a gravid jumping spider decided to lay her sack inside my mailbox last summer and I couldn't resist going out to watch her take care of her young from time to time. Hopefully none of my neighbours saw me preform this strange daily ritual of going outside to stare down into my mailbox for 15 minutes straight, then just leave without retrieving any mail.

Right now we are in the middle of Orb Weaver / Argiope Webbing and Mating. We have probably a dozen species, many in beautiful colors. They build big, lovely webs. I probably have close to a dozen in my yard. Sometimes my neighbors see me tossing feeder crickets into their webs so I totally understand where you are coming from. We have 2 types of Jumping Spiders in the bushes @ my office.
