A spider from Ethiopia, who know ?

I need your help to identify these big spiders (diameter : about 5 inches). Location : Danakil Desert, North Ethiopia, near the Erithrean border...

I'd venture to guess its a Giant Huntsmen of some sort, from the genus Heteropoda.

Straight to genus is a bit optimistic, it may be right though. definately looks like a member of Sparassidae

Could be a Eusparassus spec. As far as I know there are some species quite common in Ethiopia. Awesome spider, no question about that! :worship:

Thanks a lot for all these infos, and yes : it looks like an Eusparassus, I found some pics about a near species in Morocco (E. dufouri)...

Yes, Eusparassus seems more likely given the location, maybe I should pay attention to those. :razz:
