I collected a Dark Fishing spider a month ago. Unfortunately, this morning it has passed, more accurately, mauled.

I fed this spider Oniscus asellus Isopods 1-2 times a week. It was eating the isopods with no problems.

Today, the Isopod took revenge.

I found my spider chewed up and dead and an isopod feeding on it.

I also noticed a molt next to the spider.

I think that the isopod nibbled on the spider while it molted, killing it.

I know that many will frown upon my silly mistake but I am just a beginner at this.

A warning to all. NEVER LEAVE ANY FEEDER INSECT IN YOUR SPIDERS CAGE UNATTENDED.

I don’t want anyone to experience what I had to this morning.

Sorry for your loss  , and yes this is also why we try and dissuade people from using isopods as cleaner crews in enclosures as they do pose a risk to molting arachnids

Thanks for the warning, there are still people who use them who don't realise this can happen.

Same thing I've had them attached to beetle wings eating them alive as the beetle runs away

The bioactive trend brings the same with it. You pay a lot of money for a little dirt and then the bio is more active than you would like ...
