i dont have expirience with this species so you should wait for someone who does, but i would suggest, based on the caresheets i've read when wanting to get one, go for semi moist sub at that size. hoping someone who's better with this sp comes along to give better info and tell me if i'm right
My 5" specimen prefers the sub to be dry on the surface but moist below. The substrate is 4-6" deep and it will usually sit where the most water is concentrated below the surface, but it will web over and avoid the completely soaked areas.
I moisten the substrate with a long needle (flavor injector). She seems to enjoy the humidity but hates moist substrate sticking to her feet. Anyways, like above I leave the top dry.
