Hello guys. Today I finally got my A. geniculata sling. I've heard that this T is a fast grower. Can you guys share your experiences, molt dates, or how fast it grew in your care? I wanted to see different opinions regarding your experiences with this T in terms of growth rate.

Ps. I already know that temp, feeding frequency will still play a lot of role in growth. I just want to know the experiences of each genic keeper here. Thanks.

Acanthoscurria geniculata is among my favorite species. They are fast growers and eat well. Growth rates tend to slow down as they reach around 3". I've had four A. geniculata specimens in the past that grew from 1/2" to 4" in just over a year under a feeding schedule of taking as much prey as they can once per week in room temp. I recommend Acanthoscurria geniculata to every keeper, new or experienced.

I kept a feeding log on Excel for about a year a few years back of four new 1/2" A. geniculata acquired February of 2018 (not the specimens as those mentioned above). Like the previous batch, they were fed as much prey as they can take once per week and kept in room temp of avg 72F or 22C. At the January 2019 mark, I was feeding every two weeks. Molt dates are within about 7 days pre-2019; within 14 days post-2018. The four specimens ranged from 2.75" to 4".
The following below are the molt dates (m/d/yr) that I recorded. It got tedious as I had to juggle school, work, and my big collection nevermind recording logs. I stopped updating the Excel in July of 2019. I no longer keep a feeding log but write molt dates on my spiders' enclosures.
A. geniculata 1: 3/29/2018, 5/22/2018, 7/19/2018, 10/31/2018, 1/9/2019
A. geniculata 2: 3/29/2018, 5/22/2018, 7/27/2018, 10/31/2018, 3/8/2019
A. geniculata 3: 3/29/2018, 5/9/2018, 7/12/2018, 10/14/2018, 1/9/2019, 5/29/2019
A. geniculata 4: 3/29/2018, 5/9/2018, 7/12/2018, 10/31/2018, 1/31/2019, 6/26/2019

I currently have two A. geniculata at the moment that I received in March 2021. Maintenance for my current collection is twice per week. Molt dates are within about 3 days.
The following below are the molt dates (m/d/yr)
A. geniculata 1: 3/28/2021 6/8/2021
A. geniculata 2: 4/5/2021, 6/1/2021

Nice data, but it’s not specific enough.

You neglected to include how many prey items you fed.

I have five slings I received at 2i last September from a sac that was produced with my male. I feed them one mealworm the size of their body once a week, keeping them at 75f. They are all 1” now.

I could probably feed them more often and grow them faster but I have no interest in that.

Your interest in answers being specific ;)
I never included in my post that I recorded prey items I fed. In my post, I clearly said the tarantulas "were fed as much prey as they can take once per week." Additionally, I worked full-time and was in college full-time, as I said in the post, which made logging tedious. I never implied the process as scientific to the point where I counted and weighed prey items yet you're trying to find problems in my post. I merely recorded molt dates as a lot of keepers would. Even in the previous thread that you seem bothered by, I said I fed as much as they can take. My position on the subject is consistent, and I'm surprised you didn't even catch it XD. I suspect something is on your chest that you seem to be holding a grudge lmao. Are you good? XD

Eh, you weren’t specific enough. Your so busy- true.

So why the heck did you suggest I should have been more specific if you cannot yourself?? Hahahah
