peat moss

I agree with peat moss kept pretty dry, and a reason for a smaller enclosure is to reduce the height she could fall from. But as long as she seems content ( not climbing excessively or pacing) she has acclimated ok. I would put in enough substrate to reduce the chance of a dangerous fall. Definitely, Ts dont need or want a sponge, it breeds bacteria as mentioned. Thats advice from old books on T keeping that is no longer considered proper T care. I use the pretty standard rule (for some of us anyway) to limit the enclosure size to about 3 Ts long, by 2 Ts wide, and not much height. I have found some long, narrow water-dispenser plastic containers that are meant to go on the refrigerator shelf and dispense water, to work well as enclosures for terrestrial Ts - not too wide or excessively tall. Ts just dont require much more space than this. But personal preference is fine, too, there are lots of opinions on enclosure size, shape, etc. and make up your own mind.
