After about a month of it not being able to climb anything/eat/drinking I decided to put it in an ICU. Seemed to help it a little bit and was moved back to its cage. I checked in on it this morning and it was in a death curl barely able to move and pretty limp. I noticed it had some white crust on its mouth that had been there since it went downhill. For the sake of it and the rest of my collection I sent it to the freezer. The poor thing looked so pathetic this morning. Now I have to worry about whatever it is (possible nematodes?) spreading to the rest of my collection. My other avic almost certainly has it as they were housed together for a week or two. I'm more than a little bummed. This was my first t and what got me into the hobby a little less than a year ago. :(

My sympathies go out to you, I have started the hobby with my first tarantula being a A. Avicularia. I already love her so much, I understand how you must be feeling. Good luck in saving the rest of your collection.

By white crust...sounds like a fungus of some type? I'm only guessing.

Not sure. Reading some posts it seems like it could be either a bacterial infection or an infection plus nematodes as it seems they need it to thrive on a t. Either way it totally sucks. Thanks guys.
