As with most tarantula fasts, there is no need to worry about it unless the abdomen is getting noticeably smaller in size or looking shriveled. Remember, tarantulas can go months without eating.
You will notice that when the eggs are hatched out and fully mobile she will then start taking food again. They seem to have a shutdown period that co insides with the brooding sac.
If you have ever given a false sac to a mother T before she will guard it till the slings are mobile and then discard it. Its just ingrained in their system to worry about the egg sac first then themselves second till the hatching takes place.
the eggsack was infertile. about how long will it take for an A. avic to mature to the point of spiderlings and she will begin to eat? just curious b/c i'm sick of pullin out dead cricks
