I think mine's a male, but as far as chromatic dimorphism (is that a real term?) I think the females are brighter and more vibrant, and the males are somewhat more 'verschwarscen' or 'washed out', according to Martin. Also, lighting may have alot to do with the high contrast his shows, in comparison to mine.

I don't really trust the chilling method either. The tropical spiders have never had to deal with temperatures that cold, and who can say what it can do to their inner workings?
