100mm Macro Experience? / Tokina 100mm f/2.8 AT-X M100 AF Pro D Lens

Any experience with the Tokina 100mm f/2.8 macro? I'm looking at getting a macro for shooting the spiders but I don't want to shell out an arm and a leg. This one seems to have quite good reviews, but I'm wondering if anybody here uses one.

Haven’t used this one- there is one similar that is manual focus only, widely regarded as one of the best, works great for T macro. I asked about it a few years ago publicly I believe.

@viper69 You're the culprit! I went and checked on a macro lens recommended here. Common sense prevailed and I bought a great running Isuzu truck for the same price.
