    I think this is a male, based on behavior. It was out once a month before, and only ever for a few minutes. Then it molted (destroyed the molt) and since then its out and about all day, roaming, climbing, not shy at all anymore.

    While certainly not the bright blue that you see in many overly saturated photos of this species, my male is finally taking on a rather striking navy color that's actually pretty nice under light. The photo does mute the blue a bit, but I refuse to edit the coloring.
