New arrival today, Hadronyche macquariensis, the Port Macquarie funnel-web. Found throughout the northern NSW coast from Forster to Coffs Harbour. This little cute one currently has about an 11 to 12mm body length. Unfortunately, the fellow I bought it from had only one available.

    H.macq rehoused

'Tis the season of rehousing here, and many of my specimens that have outgrown their enclosures are getting new ones, mold replacements or simply a setup better suited to their behavioural needs. The larger of my 2 H.Macquariensis girls got her new setup today as well

    MM H.Macquariensis on the deathbed

Lost him last night before I even paired him. I don't normally emotionally attach myself to my inverts but seeing one leg curl up at a time slowly was pretty sad. No idea why he died so early

    MM Hadronyche Macquariensis

The new pair is now confirmed H.Macquariensis, but I'm not disappointed I think this a completely new species to the captive hobby, and I have the first breeding pair! Keeping him in a small jar for now since I hear its better for MMs to have smaller setups to conserve energy from wandering..?
