Some friends called me last night asking if I wanted the huntsman that was living in their garage and of course, I couldn’t say no.

    Micrommata virescens in Perth Australia?

Hey, wondering if anyone can confirm if this is of the Micrommata genus? I've noticed there aren't any recognised Australian Varieties (that I can find) and we seem to have a fairly healthy population around my house. Unfortunately I'm waiting on a lens for my Nikon so excuse the quality. Thanks.

    Crab loving dinner

This guy was so super tiny 4 weeks ago and he has grown probably 5 times his original size. Crazy how fast he grows.

Barylestis variatus 4th Sac (Variatus Spotted Huntsman)

Don't mind the moldy leftovers which was taken out after taking this picture during maintenance. She came down to throw the old sac out and is readying for her 5th sac soon. Babies are plump and eat great when it comes to flightless fruit flies.
  16. Heteropoda davidbowie

    Heteropoda davidbowie

When you're named in honour after David Bowie, you command respect! After seeing photographs of specimens online some odd years ago, Heteropoda davidbowie for a long while have been amongst my list of most admired/favourite invertebrates.

    I was wrong

My P.Gracilis is actually, most definitely female. After her recent molt, I could have sworn she looked like she had bulbs on he pedipalps but it must have been a trick of the light.

Barylestis variatus - Mother & Young Slings

Mother Barylestis variatus guarding her young from a picture I'm trying to take. She's a great mother and the sac mates are about the same in numbers as her last sac.
