I labeled it as "Chilobrachys sp." since I don't know for sure what species it is, but it laid a phantom sac yesterday night which is interesting to see once in a long time. No plans on breeding on her.
She made this sac about two weeks ago and has been an amazing mom. She’s been very slim, though, so I offered her a mealworm and she’s casually snacking on it while guarding her sac. Such a good mama ♥️
Don't mind the moldy leftovers which was taken out after taking this picture during maintenance. She came down to throw the old sac out and is readying for her 5th sac soon. Babies are plump and eat great when it comes to flightless fruit flies.
I arrived home from work this morning and started feeding some of the critters. When I lifted the lid on one of my southern NSW funnel-webs (A. sutherlandi) her burrow was closed. Lifting her container to have a little looksie this surprise greeted my previously tired eyes.
