I got a great price on a trio of A. versicolors. He responded quickly and got my slings out the next day and before I knew it I had all three healthy slings set up and eating. Thanks!
I bought 20 slings and was given a great deal for them. Rick was quick to get back to me and a pleasure to speak to. He sent out the slings well packed and quickly too, and they arrived safe and sound. I would recommend him and definitely buy from him again.
Ha, I've been off AB for too long. I got Pollock back-he probably, though it could have been something else, fatally injured the female he had been sent off to join so that family gave him back, and I have found a happy way to keep the trio of mallard boys even with going here and there. I've...
Well, I gave Pollock away today. I need to start thinking of finding homes for them since I realize that I will be traveling abroad a lot and I may move in the next few years to a place where they wouldn't be happy (like downtown of a big city where they would have to be inside most of the...
I think I can make it to the shindig in Gig Harbor, I live right by the ferry. If someone is heading on it, would they be able to give me a ride for a split of the ferry cost?
I have about 25 A. avic 2nd instar slings that I could bring if anyone is interested.
Did you import these guys or collect them from the now few available?
I used to believe that the pedes required a wet and humid environment, but I never had success until I kept them semi-dry. I can't say for sure their evolved environment, but they do thrive when things aren't wet.
About the...
I consider it commensal, or at least, my AGBs have been mite free for about 9 months now, and there has been no ill affect. I intensively de-mited my female repeatedly until every last one was gone, and that was before the babies showed up, out and she has lived the longest out of the many ABGs...
A few more to update. I don't have the duck camera with me, but these were taken over the holiday. Unfortunately, they are like cats in that they like to park themselves in front of the heater and sleep contentedly with warm air kisses blowing their feathers, and this is fooling their bodies...
Sorry guys, I have been busy/away from the internet for a while.
I assume my conditions are right for babies and adults, since they are thriving, so I intend to grow them up and continue breeding. Things have slowed down and I am not seeing them coming out of the soil, but I wonder if there are...
13 more yesterday, from itty bitty and white to 1.5" and darker. No digging around, they just were under the water dish again. :D
The adult female is still doing fine.
Wow Travis, and you look JUST like my brother, who could be my twin if he were female or I was male.
Laoticus- I did get their wings trimmed when I took them to the vet for a check up (they did it for free :) ). They might fly away, and they should come back since they get fed and they get...
I forgot to mention
Pollock is in the blue and black lightning diaper harness
Bergensteinstien is in the purple
Tethys is in the green
This pic is the most recent, taken on today's date.
Bergensteinstien is in the forefront, Tethys on the left, Pollock on the right.
3.0.0 Mallards.
Born on June 24/25 2010. 5 Hatched total, but I figured it was too many, so 2 went to a friend whose hen had gone broody, so she was happy for "babies".
Pollock-First Born and the fastest growing. He is the one who got "angel wing" temporarily which is shown where the wing is...
Wow Ryan, beeeaut! Too bad you didn't pick up the one my friend Edi bought at the show like 3 years ago. Like, well, everything else she gets, she killed it somehow :(.
IS this a new addiction? :D
